One of our top STEM Ambassadors, Sam Whitmarsh, a Senior Analytical Chemist at Astrazeneca , has been named the UK’s Most Dedicated STEM Ambassador. He was presented with his award at the STEMNET Awards Ceremony and Reception at the House of Lords, which took place on Monday 21st June 2010. We were delighted to put Sam’s name forward for the award because he has shown tremendous dedication to supporting education enrichment. He regularly helps to recruit other ambassadors, promoting the STEM Ambassador scheme and assisting with organising volunteers for various events in schools. He has taken part in a number of events himself from giving science talks to participating in careers events. Recently he worked with Bedminster Down School to put together a whole scheme of work on product development for the Chemistry module of the BTEC Science course. Graphic Science was also pleased to note that one of the key employers in the region, Atkins, were also shortlisted for the Most Dedicated Employer award. Graphic Science manages the STEM Ambassador and STEMPOINT brokerage contracts for the West of England region.
