STEM Employers

As a STEM employer, you know that current and future skills needs require more people coming in to the workforce with higher level skills in STEM.

For the sake of your business’s future, you need to know that school leavers in the region are motivated to seek further qualifications and employment in STEM-related fields.

The STEM Ambassador programme offers people with knowledge, skills and passion for STEM the opportunity to share their expertise and enthusiasm with students. The STEM Ambassador Hub West England is keen to work with STEM employers who consider that employee volunteering via the STEM Ambassador programme plays a key role in the development of a STEM-skilled workforce.

By working with us, your employees will develop their communication skills and build a portfolio of experience that is transferable across the business. Their actions will also help you build valuable relationships with your local community.

What do STEM Ambassadors do?

STEM Ambassadors are provided with opportunities to work with young people in schools and other community groups in ways to meet their own skills, interests and availability. These activities can include careers talks, supporting after school clubs or projects, judging competitions, running practical activities in lessons or working with teachers to enhance their STEM knowledge. STEM Ambassadors can also be involved in a wide range of other STEM initiatives, such as Code Club, Go4SET, CREST Awards, Bloodhound SSC and WISE People Like Me.
