STEMPOINT Brokerage for the West of England

Graphic Science holds the STEMPOINT brokerage contract for the West of England (Bristol, BANES, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire), which provides brokerage services for STEM Enhancement and Enrichment (E&E). 

STEM E&E is invaluable for inspiring young people in STEM subjects (Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). There are many different modes of STEM E&E available.

Types of STEM E&E might include:

• Visits to museums and science centres or other places of interest with STEM-related education programmes.

• Numerous activities and workshops that can take place in school, such as those listed in the STEM directories and other regional and local provision.

• STEM Ambassadors (formerly known as SEAs) from local businesses and universities who can provide career talks, interactive workshops or get involved with other activities such as after school clubs.

• National schemes such as the Nuffield Bursary Scheme and the BA Crest Awards

Are you a science, technology, engineering or mathematics teacher working in a school in the West of England region? Perhaps you are confused by the array of STEM E&E schemes available. Not sure which will benefit your students most?  As STEMPOINT brokerage contract holders we have a responsibility to provide all schools and colleges in the region with impartial advice and guidance on a wide range of STEM E&E activities, helping them to identify which opportunities can best inspire their young people in STEM.

What service can we provide to schools?

• We can come out and visit your school to find out what your future needs might be and how you can work to integrate STEM enhancement and enrichment activity into your school life.

• If you would like to get an event or project going in your school, or would like to know what’s out there to engage and inspire particular groups of pupils with STEM, we can give you free advice and guidance.

• We can provide details of, or facilitate contact with, the person or organisation best suited to meeting your specific needs. As STEM Ambassador Management contract holders we can also team you with suitable ambassadors.

• We can provide you with free copies of the STEM directories and give you advice on how to use them effectively.
