supporting education Ingenious Engineering Diplomas

We have been awarded funding from the Royal Academy of Engineering to design a bespoke training course, along with a set of specially devised classroom activities, for engineers who wish to support the delivery of the 14-19 Engineering Diplomas in schools.

The engineers will be primarily Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Ambassadors based in the South West and will be recruited and trained by the STEM Ambassador scheme contract holders across the region.

Throughout 2009 we will:

  1. Design a training course that will provide engineers with the skills to support the delivery of the 14-19 Engineering Diplomas
  2. Deliver this training course to a range of STEM  Ambassadors across the South West
  3. Develop resources and activities for engineers to use in schools
  4. Work with schools to provide opportunities for these engineers to develop their skills through working with students studying the 14-19 Engineering Diploma

We will call upon our extensive experience of public engagement training, along with our links through managing the STEM Ambassador scheme for the West of England, and holding the STEMPOINT brokerage contract in that same region.

We will work with STEM Ambassador scheme contract holders in neighbouring regions in the South West to deliver the training and support in their areas.
