training robot thought

Robot Thought is an interactive dialogue event for family groups, designed to stimulate discussion about the future direction and implications of advances in robotics. It was rolled out in Science Centres across the UK throughout 2006-2007. Further details.

We designed and delivered four specially devised  one-day training workshops, which were attended by robotics researchers who had teamed up with Science Centres to run events in their region.

The workshops were divided into a series of practical activities designed to provide insights and experience within a peer group supported environment. The training equipped the roboticists with the skills and confidence to share their expertise with members of the public.

We also worked with Science Centres and robot labs to adapt their versions of the show to align with their own specific expertise, priorities and research interests.

Our project partners included: the University of the West of England, Bristol; the University of Wales, Aberystwyth; the University of Edinburgh; the Open University; At-Bristol; Life Science Centre; Techniquest; Techniquest@NEWI; Thinktank Science Museum; Science Museum, London; W5; and Edinburgh Science Festival.
