Promote your activity to STEM Ambassadors

What is the overall aim of your activity? type in the box To challenge stereotypes of who does STEM by reading a STEM-themed children’s story aloud.

Short description of your activity type in the box (replace [x] with details applicable with your request) We are looking for STEM Ambassadors to come and share an exciting stereotype-busting STEM story with us, for example Ada Twist, Scientist (or another similarly curious story). We would like the Ambassador to work with [x number] class(es), with children in [Year(s) x], and we would like this to happen [x date(s) and times]. Whilst with the class we would also like each Ambassador to answer children’s questions about how they use Science skills in their job (for a list of science skills that the children learn about in school, see https://pstt.org.uk/resources/curriculum-materials/enquiry-skills). To facilitate this we would like each STEM Ambassador to share a brief overview (e.g. 1 or 2 slides) of what their job involves in child friendly language before they come. This will help the children prepare high quality questions to ask on the day of the Ambassador visit. If you are interested please express an interest and leave us a message, including the name of any book you might like to read aloud.
