What’s this all about?

Teachers pass on messages about career paths through the relationships they build and the curriculum they teach, but they are not always aware of what the labour market is looking for, the green skills that employers value, or the range of pathways available.

The emphasis is on ensuring that participation delivers as CPD for teachers, influencing classroom practice and embedding the employer relationship into the curriculum. Participation should provide both employers and classroom teachers with the experience and confidence necessary to have relevant and contextual careers conversations with young people, and demonstrate the imperative need for greater diversity in career aspirations.

Teacher Encounters is funded across England by the Careers and Enterprise Company. Click here to watch their introductory video
