Climate Ambassadors

Climate Ambassadors is an initiative led by the University of Reading and STEM Learning to mobilise experts within the climate sector and support them with engaging with young people and educators.

The Climate Ambassadors initiative exists to provide schools and colleges with guidance that is tailored to the needs of their students and settings. The STEM Ambassador Hub West England supports the Climate Ambassador scheme and works alongside it to deliver a programme of support for teachers and schools that is further tailored to the needs of the local green economy.

Become a Climate Ambassador

We are looking for volunteers from a broad range of jobs and backgrounds to engage with young people to demonstrate the connection between the subjects they study and their future life and careers in a changing climate. If you’d like to join the Climate Ambassador Scheme, please first register as a STEM Ambassador. Within the Skills and Qualifications section of your STEM Ambassador profile there is an option to add yourself to a Scheme. Please type ‘Climate Ambassador’ into the schemes box to add yourself to the Climate Ambassador Scheme – and that’s it!

If you’re new to the STEM Ambassador programme then the next step will be completing our STEM Induction training and a DBS Check. Once you’re approved as a STEM Ambassador then we will keep you up to date on all the latest news, events & school requests relating to the Climate Ambassador Scheme.
